Team Asha at the Texas Twister Races

Volunteering at races is an oft over-looked aspect of running but also one of the most rewarding (sometimes literally!) and often almost as challenging as running the race itself. Its a fun way to give back to the running community and a very inspiring one too - seeing the camaraderie between the runners, their determination in trying to get through those last few miles, keeping up their spirits despite the challenges offered by factors beyond their control. All this while doing nothing more complicated than handing out cups of water.

A few Team Asha runners who are also members of the Hill Country Trail Runners helped out at one of the aid-stations at the Texas Trail Twister Endurance Run 60km/30km/10km races held on October 5th at Bryan,TX. Here are a few pics from the event.

Very good point! My tri-coach used to say we need to create good karma by volunteering! :)
